History

St. Paul's United Methodist Church was founded in 1867 through the missionary efforts of the Reverend Adolph Luescher among the German-speaking people on Town Line Road.  In 1869, the congregation organized as St. Paul's Evangelical Church with 21 charter members.  The Certificate of Incorporation was granted January 11, 1870.

The Evangelical and the United Brethren denominations merged in 1946 to become the Evangelical United Brethren denomination.  The West Valley Methodist Church united with the St. Paul's Evangelical United Brethren Church on June 6, 1965.  In 1968, the Methodist and Evangelical United Brethren denominations merged to become the United Methodist denomination.  St. Paul's has played an important part in the lives of the residents of West Valley and the surrounding area for many years.

We invite you to return and particpate in all that God is doing in and through St. Paul's United Methodist Church.  We pray that you will feel this is where God wants you to have your church home.
